Matt MacQueen

Hi, I'm a hands-on, hybrid product and design leader, building new products at the edge of what AI makes possible. I build products, lean teams and the systems that keep evolving both.

Most recently VP of Product & Design at JSTOR, the $100M ARR SaaS platform for the arts, sciences and humanities (serving 14,000 research institutions in 190 countries). There he defined and brought 2 new AI products to market. One 0-to-1 SaaS product drove $1.6M in first-year revenue (on track to double in 2026). He's spent the last two years transforming how teams use AI to build better products, faster.

Prior roles in Silicon Valley: first design leader at pre-IPO Coursera (Series B, C, D, revenue $2M to $95M over 3 years), Google (led UX for Moto X smartphone), and Motorola (UXR and strategy).

At home at any altitude: from hands-on in the work to winning funding in the boardroom. Last company CTO asked him to lead the product org because of how he frames narrative and value from a strong customer point of view.

Conversations he's having: leadership at a design-driven company in a moment of real change. Not chasing a specific title. Open to a hands-on leadership role if the mandate is bold, team culture is strong, and AI transformation is central to the strategy.

Lives in NYC, appreciates an office. Enjoys travel for colleagues and workshops. Easy to talk to.
